System C has appointed a new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to oversee technological development of the company’s leading healthcare, social care, and education management solutions. Brian Collins began heading up the critical role early this week.
Brian brings with him his passion for technology. He is a firm believer in its huge potential to support a company’s customer needs and drive business growth. With more than 20 years of experience in the technology sector, he has an impressive leadership background in the specialist area.
Brian joins System C from Accelya, a mission critical software business where he was the CTO. Accelya runs systems for the airline industry, and he has led the transformation of the research and development (R&D) function, developing new solutions and replatforming many of those on which the world’s air transportation industry depends.
Prior to Accelya, Brian spent ten years at Datalex, a market leader in digital commerce for travel retail and before that time at online service provider giant, AOL.
In his new senior management role, Brian joins System C at an exciting time as the company nears its 40th birthday and responds to the major increase in NHS digitisation due to improved central funding and the new ICS structures.
The business is currently supporting several Trusts as they progress towards HIMSS 6/7, with the CareFlow EPR having all of the components required to meet those levels and providing the National Immunisations Management System (NIMS) for Covid and flu vaccinations. Meanwhile, the Liquidlogic subsidiary continues to maintain its position as the UK’s fastest-growing supplier of software for local authority social care and education management services.
Brian will support System C’s continued growth in these areas by driving new innovations, replatforming current critical solutions, developing its nearshoring/ offshoring strategy, improving data and metrics in R&D, structuring the function for scale and success, standardising systems and processes, and managing its cyber response.
New System C CTO, Brian Collins commented: “I’m really excited to be joining System C and working with the team to ensure the business’s technology strategy is aligned with its goals, while keeping a finger on the technological pulse. There are lots of opportunities for digital transformation in the markets that we serve currently, and my focus is on responding effectively to enable services to deliver exceptional care.”
System C’s CEO, Nick Wilson said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Brian to the team and I look forward to working with him during this important period for System C and our customers as digitisation moves higher up the central agenda. The R&D function and our engineering team are at the heart of our future journey and Brian’s appointment is a key move to support that path.”
