Tech group recognised for innovative approach to social care technology solutions

A national provider of workforce management solutions that established life changing wearable technology for the health and social care sectors, is in the running for a prestigious industry award.

Advanced Risk Modelling for Early Detection (ARMED) has been shortlisted for the ‘Innovation of the Year’ award at the Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards thanks to an impactful and long-lasting collaboration with Edinburgh Napier University and Scotland’s Digital and Health Institute (DHI).

Now in its fifth year, the awards recognise, reward and celebrate the impacts achieved through academic and business partnerships.

Part of HAS Technology, ARMED technology measures data associated with frailty and risk of falling, alongside wearable technology, to assist people in the health and social care sector to live more independently and to reduce falls and associated hospital admissions.

Brian Brown, Director of ARMED at HAS Technology Group commented: “We are always striving to improve the lives of those receiving care and support and are thrilled our ARMED technology has been recognised as an innovation in the sector.”

“This nomination is a testament to the hard work of each and every one of our team and we are thrilled to see digital transformation being embraced by the sector with an increased priority to improving lives, increasing independence and preventing health issues before they arise.”

ARMED was developed with support from Edinburgh Napier University and Scotland’s Digital Health and Care Institute (DHI), as well as being in the 1% of companies chosen to be a Microsoft partner.

With a proven success rate and 25:1 save to spend ratio, ARMED has quickly expanded, gained Microsoft recognition and created 5 jobs, demonstrating how AI and deep learning can revolutionise preventative care.

The Scottish Knowledge Exchange Awards recognise, reward and celebrate the impacts achieved through academic and business partnerships. We’d like to show Scotland how innovative businesses, universities, research institutes and colleges are leading the way towards economic growth, societal improvements and environmental advances and further positioning Scotland as a CAN DO nation.

Winners of the awards will be announced at the awards ceremony on the evening of the 27th February.
