The Era of Emerging Technology: Healthcare Digital Technology Congress
The NHS Long Term Plan was published in January 2019. The plan sets out the NHS’s ambitions for improvement over the next 10 years, following the five-year funding settlement announced by the government in July 2018
We are currently using technology to help health and care professionals communicate better and enable people to access the care they need quickly and easily when it suits them, our 6th Empowering a Digital Future: Healthcare Digital Technology Congress will take you on an interactive journey through the world of emerging digital advancements from within the National Health Service.
Let’s look at 5 current digital advancements being driven across the UK:
National AI Lab: the government will invest £250 million in artificial intelligence (AI) to help solve some of healthcare’s toughest challenges, including earlier cancer detection, discovering new treatments and relieving the workload on our NHS workforce.
Population Health Management: In Lancashire and South Cumbria GPs, data analysts, finance directors as well as colleagues from local authorities and the voluntary sector sit together and discuss the potential for the stratification and segmentation of data to inform the way we shape care.
Digital health hub: A digital health hub piloted in Nailsea has proved to be such a success that the NHS is scaling it up across England, as demand increases from councils in North West London, the Wirral, Blackburn, Middlesbrough and Stafford.
Digital Diabetes: Thousands of people who are at risk of Type 2 diabetes will receive digital support to prevent them from developing the condition as part of the NHS Long Term Plan.
I HEART Barnsley: Creating physical and virtual primary care improved access hubs that provide fully integrated improved out of hours care is the aim of the ‘I Heart Barnsley’ scheme.
