New framework launched to manage cyber threats

NHS Digital, NHS Shared Business Services and National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) have partnered up to launch a new cyber security framework to help manage cyber security risks, procure external services and prevent data loss in case of an event.

The new framework has been specially designed to complement services from NHS Digital’s Data Security Centre that already exist. Organisations are now able to introduce additional resources to carry our security testing, implement solutions and provide consultancy on how to recover from incidents that may occur.

25 suppliers have been carefully selected from a specialised market place that have been approved by NHS Digital who will also provide them support.

Dan Jeffery, NHS Digital’s Head of Innovation, Delivery and Business Operations, said: “This new framework will give NHS and other public sector organisations confidence that they are buying quality cyber security services from trusted suppliers, and a sustainable route to market for organisations who want to improve their cyber security posture.

“It will provide further options, alongside NHS Digital’s central offering, for organisations to procure support which is bespoke and relevant to them, so that they can continue to keep patient data safe and secure and deliver world class patient care.

“We will continue to work with partners such as the NCSC to support organisations to safeguard against malicious attacks.”
